Deliberate Blindness?

by milesstoneman

History, especially American history, is one of my passions.  I can’t read enough biographies to satisfy my desire to know more about the people of our past.  I simply have neither enough reading time, nor enough money to buy the books.

Currently, I’m finishing the “Anti-Federalist Papers”.  I’ve already read and re-read the Federalist Papers.  I’m awe-struck with the ability of men in that time (1775-1789).  They were men of deep thought and wide understanding.

Of course, there was no television.  They weren’t distracted by Honey Boo Boo, Duck Dynasty, The Big Bang Theory, or Major League Baseball.  And they both knew, and expressed to each other that their decisions during that time would have long-lasting consequences for their posterity and the world.

So I ask you, can you name all of the characters in The Big Bang Theory?  Can you quote, in order, the first 10 amendments to the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights?

Do you know all of the players on your favorite MLB team and their stats?  Can you recite the preamble to the US Constitution?

What are the names of the rich, bearded men on Duck Dynasty?  Name 4 Medal of Honor winners.

If there is a train wreck coming, we shouldn’t be surprised.
